2nd Corinthians 13
1 This is the third time I am (planning)
to come to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be
established.
2 I told you before, and I tell you again, as if
I were present (with you),
the second time; and now being absent, I write to those who have previously
committed the offense (which I wrote you
about), and to all others, that, if I come
again, I will not hold back:
3 Since you seek a proof of Christ speaking (boldly)
in me, that is not weak but is mighty among you.
4 For though the Lord Jesus was crucified through
(bodily)
weakness, yet He lives (forever in
glorified immortal flesh) by the power of
God. For we are also weak in Him, but we shall live with Him by the power of
God among you.
5 Examine yourselves, whether you are in the
faith (of Jesus Christ);
(that you)
prove yourselves (acceptable).
Or do you not recognize your own selves how that Jesus Christ is in you,
except if you are disapproved (by your own
examination)?
6 But I (hope
and) trust that you shall be fully
persuaded that we are not disapproved (by
Him).
7 Now I pray to God that you do no harm (entangling
yourself in hurtful lusts); not so that we
should appear approved, but so that you should do that which is (beautiful
and) honorable, though we may be without
approval (yet as approved).
8 For we can do nothing against the truth, but (only)
on behalf of the truth.
9 Therefore, we rejoice when we are weak, and you
are strong: and this we also pray, for your perfection (complete
in His love).
10 Therefore, I write these things being absent,
so that being present I would not use sharpness of speech (treating
you with severity), (but)
according to the authority which the Lord has given me for edification, and
not for destruction.
11 Finally, brothers, farewell. Be perfect (looking
to the One who is perfect to father your life),
(and so shall you)
be of good comfort, (and)
be of one mind (in Christ),
living in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you (always).
12 Greet one another with a holy kiss.
13 All the saints (with
me who have called upon the name of the Lord)
salute you.
14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the
communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.
