John 6

After these things Jesus departed over the Sea of Galilee, which is also called the Sea of Tiberias.

And great multitudes followed Him because they saw His miracles which He did on those that were sick with (all sorts of) diseases.

And Jesus went up into a mountain, and He sat there with His disciples.

And the Passover feast of the Jews was drawing near.

When Jesus lifted His eyes, and saw a great crowd coming to Him, He said to Philip, where will we buy bread, so that all these may eat (and be satisfied)?

And He said this to prove him (so that his faith might be in the sufficiency of the Father), for He Himself knew what He would do.

Philip answered Him, two hundred pennies worth of bread is not enough for all these men so that everyone might receive just a little piece.

One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, said to Him,

There is a little boy here, who has five round (bread) cakes baked from barley (which was used in the first fruits offering during Passover, which very offering Jesus would become), and two small fishes: but that is so little among so many people?

And Jesus said, have the men (lay down and) recline in the (tender green) grass, for there was a lot of grass in that place. And there were about five thousand men who reclined in the grass.

And when Jesus had lifted up the loaves of bread, He gave thanks to the Father (the same way He offered thanksgiving to the Father when later His body was lifted up on the cross); and then distributed to the disciples, and the disciples gave to those that were reclining in the grass; and with the fishes, He did the same, and they all ate as much as they wanted and were satisfied.

When they were filled (and satisfied), He said to His disciples, gather up (like the harvest) even the fragments that remain, so that nothing may be lost.

And when they had gathered all the fragments, they filled twelve baskets full of the five barley cakes that remained, over and above what was given to them that had eaten (and were satisfied).

And when those men (who ate and were satisfied) realized the (sign, wonder and) miracle that Jesus had done, they said this is certainly the prophet (that Moses) spoke of that would come into the world.

When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take Him by force, to make Him king, He left again into the mountain by Himself.

And when evening had come, His disciples went to the sea (to leave),

And when the disciples got onto a ship, they headed toward Capernaum. And it was now dark, and Jesus had not come with them.

And the sea was rough because of a great wind that was blowing.

So when they had rowed about three or four miles out, they saw Jesus coming to them walking on the sea and coming close to their ship and they were afraid.

But He said to them, it is I, do not be afraid.

Then after they gladly received Him into the ship: immediately the ship landed in the exact place they were going.

The following day, when the people who stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was no other boat there, except the one that His disciples got into, and that Jesus had not got into the boat with His disciples, but that His disciples had left without Him;

{However there were other boats that came from Tiberias near to the place where they did eat bread after the Lord had given thanks (to the Father)}:

When the people saw that Jesus was no longer there, they also got ships and traveled to Capernaum looking for Jesus.

And when they found Him on the other side, they said to Him Rabbi, when and how did you get here?

Jesus answered them and said, with absolute certainty, I say to you, you do not seek Me because you saw miracles but because you ate the bread and were satisfied.

Do not work for the meat which perishes but for the meat (the Father supplies) that endures to everlasting life (the thing that your heart has always desired), which the Son of man will give you: because upon Him has God the Father set the seal (of His name).

Then they said to Him, what work can we do that we might work the works of God?

Jesus answered them and said, this is the work which God desires, that you would believe upon (the testimony of) the One whom He sent (allowing the Father to also surname you His sons).

They said to Him, what sign will you show us then, so that we may see and believe you? What work will you perform?

Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written (by Moses), He gave them bread to eat from heaven.

Jesus said to them, with absolute certainty I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven but My Father, (the same One) Who gives you the true bread from heaven (which is meat unto eternal life).

For the bread that God gives is He that came down (the Lord) from heaven (the Father’s incorruptible seed inside of perishable flesh), Who gives life to the world.

Then they said to Him, Lord, give us this bread forevermore.

And Jesus said to them, I AM the bread of life (the Word of life which lives and abides forever made flesh that came down from heaven): he that comes to Me (for that life) will never hunger (but will be fully satisfied), he that believes on Me (and the Word which I have spoken) will never thirst (again).

But I have said this to you because you have seen Me and yet you do not believe.

All who the Father gives to Me will come to Me (being persuaded by the life they see manifest in Me), and whoever comes to Me I will in no way ever turn them away (and they will never be disappointed).

For I came down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of the Father who sent Me.

And this is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all which He has given to Me, I should lose none, but will raise them (up from the grave immortal) on the last day (of death in the earth).

And this is the will of Him that sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son (is the bread of life sent by the Father) and believes upon (the testimony the Father has given in) Him (will also cry Abba Father so that they) may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up (from the grave in immortal flesh) on the last day (of death in the earth).

The Jews were grumbling because He said He was the bread that came down from heaven.

And they said, is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How can it be possible then that He came down from heaven?

Jesus therefore answered and said to them, do not grumble among yourselves.

No man can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him (persuading him of the Father’s desire to serve him with the same incorruptible life he sees in Me): and I will raise him up (to bodily immortality) on the last day (of death in the earth).

It is written in the prophets, and they will all be taught of God (that He is Father). Every man therefore who hears (Me, the voice) of the Father and learns of Him, comes to Me (that He might have eternal life).

No man has seen the Father at any time, except the Son which is of the Father (with Him from all eternity), He has seen (and does reveal) the Father.

With absolute certainty I say to you, he that believes on Me has eternal life (abiding in him because he has believed upon the testimony the Father has given in the Son).

I am the bread of life (that came down from heaven which the Father gives to every man so that they might live and never die).

Your fathers ate manna in the wilderness, and they are dead.

This (bread that I speak of) is the bread (the Father gives) which comes down from heaven, that a man may eat of it and never die.

I am the living bread (the Word of eternal life that lives and abides forever) that came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, (which is to believe that the Word the Father has spoken in Me is the meat which strengthens unto eternal life), he will live forever: and the bread that I give him is My flesh (My body) which I will give for the life of the world (to rescue them from death).

Therefore the Jews argued among themselves, saying, how can this man give us His flesh to eat?

Then Jesus said to them, with absolute certainty, I say to you, that unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man (seeing that it is the meat, the lamb the Father has provided for eternal life, believing on the testimony He has given in the Son), and drink His blood (believing that His death has brought an end to your death), you can have no other life in you (apart from His life).

Whoever eats My flesh, and drinks My blood, has eternal life (abiding in them, having partaken of the life that cannot ever die); and I will raise them up (in bodily immortality) on the last day (of death in the earth).

For My flesh is (with absolute certainty) the true meat (that satisfies unto eternal life) and My blood is (with absolute certainty) the true drink (which seals the promise thereof).

He that eats My flesh, and drinks My blood, abides in Me, and I (and the seed of My incorruptible life abide) in him.

Just as (I receive from) the living Father (Who) has sent Me, and I live (and receive strength) by (feeding on the Word and the wisdom that) the Father (has spoken from the beginning): so also he that eats of Me, even he will live because of Me (because just as the Father raises up the dead and gives life, so also does the Son give life to whom He will).

This is the bread (the Father has given) that came down from heaven (that is able to satisfy with His life and immortality): not as your fathers did eat manna and are dead: but whoever eats of this bread will live (and abide) forever.

These things said He in the synagogue, as He taught in Capernaum.

Many of His disciples, upon hearing this, said, this is a difficult saying; who wants to hear such things?

When Jesus knew in Himself that His own disciples grumbled at it, He said to them, does this cause you to stumble in believing the truth?

What if you see the Son of man ascend up to (the Father) where he was (from) before (time began, now in glorified flesh that can never die again)?

It is the Spirit (of the living God) that gives life; the flesh profits nothing: the words that I speak to you (from the Spirit) are spirit, (filled with the word of truth that is able to animate the body) and they are (full of power to strengthen you and father you unto the fruit of His) life (manifesting in you, and immortality in your flesh on the last day of death in the earth).

But there are some of you that do not believe. For Jesus knew from the beginning, the disciples that did not believe, and who it was that would betray Him.

And He said, that is why said I to you, that no man will come unto Me so that he might have eternal life except it is revealed to him from My Father.

From that time on, many of His disciples turned back and no longer walked with Him.

Then Jesus said to the twelve disciples, will you also go away?

And Simon Peter answered Him, Lord, to whom else would we go? Only you have the words of eternal life.

And we believe and are certain that you are the Christ, the Son of the living God (and Father of us all).

Jesus answered and said, have I not chosen all twelve of you and yet one of you is (a false accuser), born from that (old) serpent (the devil)?

He was speaking of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon, who was one of the twelve that would soon betray Him.
