Romans 8

There is therefore now no condemnation (of death) to them who are (crucified) with Christ Jesus, who walk not after (life through the corruption of) the flesh, but after the Spirit (of life they behold in Christ Jesus).

For the law of the Spirit of life (revealed) in Christ Jesus (being raised from the grave in immortal flesh) has made me free (wherein my flesh goes to rest) from the law (that worked in my members through death in the motions) of sin (to preserve my own life) and (which served me with) death.

For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through (the inability of) the flesh (to overcome death), God sending His own Son (the incorruptible seed and self-same substance of His life) in the likeness of dying flesh (which had enslaved men to sin), and for (the sending away of) sin, condemned sin (destroying its power by conquering death) in the flesh:

So that the righteousness (which is spoken) of (in) the law (to give us His life and immortality) might be (by promise) fulfilled in us, who walk not after (the corruptible life we can produce through) the flesh, but after the Spirit (which cries Abba, Father).

For they that are (seeking life) after the flesh do mind (giving their full attention to) the things of the flesh (with all its lust); but they that are (walking) after the Spirit (rest in the certainty of) the things of the Spirit (to quicken even their mortal bodies).

For to be carnally minded (looking to the strength of your flesh) is (the way that leads to) death; but to be spiritually minded (looking to the Spirit) is (the way that leads to His) life and peace (even the redemption of your body immortal).

Because the carnal mind (which is fixated on fulfilling the lust for life through your dying flesh) is hostile toward God: for it is not subject to (Christ) the law of God (unto life), neither indeed can (that mind ever) be (unto life but only the certainty of death).

So then they that are (trusting) in (the works of) the flesh (to obtain to life) cannot please God (seeing as they are perishing).

But you are not (trusting) in the flesh (that you perish), but (quickened) by (your union to) the Spirit, if indeed it be that the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if any man does not have the Spirit of Christ (dwelling in him), he is not (sharing) in His (life).

But if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of (the) sin (of one man Adam); but (your union to) the Spirit (of the living God) is (the power and certainty of an indestructible) life because of (the) righteousness (of the God man, Jesus Christ).

Now if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead (immortal) dwells in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwells in you (unto the likeness of His resurrection).

Therefore, brothers, we are not obligated to the flesh, to live after (the deeds of) the flesh (to obtain unto His life).

For if you live after (the corruption of) the flesh (and the lusts thereof), you shall die: but if you (live) through the Spirit (of life you behold in Christ Jesus, it destroys the power of sin by) putting to death the deeds of the body (which held you in bondage to fear death), you shall live.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God (in Christ, shall rest in Him to care for their lives), they are (conformed into the image of the Son) the sons of God.

For you have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear (death); but you have received the Spirit of adoption (of sonship), whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit, so that we (may be certain that we) are the children of God:

And if we are children, then we are heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with (the risen) Christ; if so be that we (fellowship in His) suffering (being planted) with Him (in the likeness of the death that He died to the world) so that we also may be (raised and) glorified with Him (to share in His life without end).

For (when I consider my inseparable union to His indestructible life) I conclude that the sufferings of this present world (cannot injure or prevent that life and therefore) are not worthy to be compared to the glory (and splendor of His life) which shall be revealed in us (the sons of God).

For the earnest desire (and intense longing) of the creature waits (with anticipation) for manifestation of the sons of God (to be revealed in the likeness and glory of God in the earth).

For the creature was made subject to vanity (to labor without benefit), not willingly, but by reason of him (the first-man Adam) who has subjected the same (to the bondage of corruption) in hope (of liberty),

Because the creature itself (along with all creation) also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God (in the return of Christ).

For we know that the whole creation groans and travails (like a woman) in (birth) pains together until this present time.

And not only they, but ourselves also, who have the first fruits of the Spirit (of life in Christ Jesus), even we ourselves groan (inaudibly) within ourselves (for deification), waiting (with certainty) for the adoption, to know (the power of His resurrection and, the redemption of our (vile) bodies (to be fashioned in the likeness of His glorious body, immortal, when He returns to subdue all things to Himself).

For we are saved by hope (the sure hope that our union with Him ensures our end shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, the immortality of our bodies): but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man sees (has already manifested), why would he then hope for it?

But if we (have the sure) hope (in Christ) of that (bodily immortality) which we do not yet see (revealed), then we (through the Spirit) will wait with patience for the hope of righteousness (by the faith revealed in Jesus Christ).

Likewise, the Spirit also helps (comfort us in) our weakness (assuring our hearts of the bodily immortality it truly longs for): for we do not know what (we need that) we should pray for as is necessary: but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us (in our hearts) with groanings which cannot be uttered.

And He that searches the hearts knows the thoughts (and purposes) of the Spirit, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the (good and perfect) will of God (to glorify us unto His life and immortality).

And we know that all things work together (even while we are yet in travail) for (the) good (and perfect will of God) to them that love Him, to those who are called (into fellowship with His Son) according to His purpose (to gather us unto Himself).

For (all those) who (would receive His love for them) He did foreknow (and predetermined His desire to gather them to Himself), He also did predestinate (that it would be by His grace for) them to be conformed to the image (and bearers of the likeness) of His Son, so that He might be the firstborn among many brothers (to share in the blessing of the firstborn).

Moreover, whom He did predestinate (for deification), them He also called (into fellowship with His Son): and whom He called, them He also justified (from the accusation that because of the death in their flesh, they were not as they ought to be to appear in the likeness of His Son): and whom He justified, them He also glorified (providing the sure hope of immortality even in their flesh).

What shall we say then to these things? If God is for us (being partakers of His love and grace so that we might be conformed into the image and bearer of the likeness of His Son), who can be against us?

He that did not withhold His own Son (coming in the likeness of perishable flesh) but provided Himself (the lamb so that He might taste death) for us all, how shall He not (along) with Him also freely give us all things?

Who shall lay anything to the charge of God's elect (who through His grace and mercy partake of the promise of His life)? Is it (not) God that justifies (you from death unto life)?

Who is He that condemns (death in the flesh)? It is Christ that died (for all), yes, and who is risen again, who is even seated at the right hand of God (in glorified human flesh), who also makes intercession (in our hearts) for us (to find rest and comfort in the certainty of His same life and bodily immortality to be revealed in us).

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ (who shed His precious blood and laid down His life so that He might conquer our death)? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

As it is written (in the Psalms), For your sake we are killed (and face death) all day long (because we proclaim the gospel); we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

No, (rather) in all these things we are more than conquerors (of death) through Him that loved us (but also partakers of His glorious life and immortality).

For I am persuaded (of the certainty), that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which (certainty) is (found) in (our union with the death, resurrection, and ascension of) Christ Jesus our Lord.
