2 Thessalonians 3
1 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of
the Lord (that we preach, the gospel of Jesus Christ and Him crucified)
may spread quickly (throughout the world without hinderance), and be
glorified, just as it is in you:
2 And that we may be delivered from (the dangers
of) unreasonable and malicious men (full of iniquity): for not
all men have the faith.
3 But the Lord is faithful, (being both the One)
who will establish you, (and who will also strengthen) and guard your
heart from evil.
4 And (for that reason) we are (persuaded
and) confident in the (word of the) Lord concerning you, that (the
faith works in) you, to (both) do and bring about the things
which we (came along side and) charged you (of the Lord).
5 And the Lord (will) direct your hearts (bringing
you) into the love of God, and into (rest and) the patient
waiting for Christ.
6 Now we charge you, brethren, in the name of our
Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw yourselves from every brother that
walks disorderly, and not after the ways which we passed on to you which he
(also) received of us.
7 For yourselves know how you ought to (walk and)
follow our example: for we did not conduct ourselves disorderly among you;
8 Neither did we eat any man's bread without paying
for it; but we worked with labor and hardship night and day, so that we
might not be an expense to any of you:
9 Not because we do not have the authority (to do
as we please), but to make ourselves an example for you to follow us.
10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded
you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat (another man’s
bread).
11 For we hear that there are some which walk
disorderly among you, (and are idle) not working at all but are
busybodies (busy with what others are doing).
12 Now to them that are doing such things we charge
and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that in quietness (and peacefulness)
they (do their own) work and eat their own bread.
13 But you, brethren, (who diligently harken to
the faith) will not grow weary in doing well (regardless of what
others do).
14 And if any man does not obey our word by this
epistle, note that man, and have no (intimate) association with him,
so that he may turn away from such things.
15 Yet do not esteem him as an enemy but admonish
him as a brother.
16 Now the Lord of peace Himself give you (His)
peace in every way. The Lord is with you always.
17 The salutation of Paul is written with my own
hand, which is the token of every epistle: so, I Paul write:
