John 14

Let not your heart be troubled (thinking you need to care for your own life): (In the same way) you believe in God, believe also in Me (for the Father and I are One).

In My Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go (to the Father) to prepare a place for you (an incorruptible life in Me that will never fade away, reserved for you in heaven).

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto Myself (where My Father dwells); so that where I am, there you may be also.

And where I go you know, and the way you know.

Thomas said to Him, Lord, we do not know where you are going; so how can we know the way?

Jesus said to him, I am the way (to the Father), the truth (about the Father), and the life (of the Father): no man comes to the Father (for the reward of His life), but by (the faith revealed in) Me.

If you had known Me, you should have known My Father also: and from this point forward you do know Him and have seen Him.

Philip said to him, Lord, show us the Father, and it will be sufficient for us.

Jesus said to him, Have I been with you such a long time, and yet have you not known Me, Philip? he that has seen Me has seen the Father; so how do you say then, Show us the Father?

Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? the words that I speak to you (which are full of the spirit to produce the Father’s life) I speak not of Myself: but the Father that dwells in Me, He does the works.

Believe Me that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me: or else believe Me for the very works' sake.

With absolute certainty, I say to you, he that believes on Me (believes on the Father who sent me), (and being persuaded that My works are from the Father), the works that I do, he will also do (of the Father), and he will do greater works (after receiving the Spirit); because I go to My Father (so that the Spirit could dwell in you forever).

And whatever you will ask (the Father) in My name, that (work to produce His life), I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

If you will ask (the Father) anything (pertaining to His life and Godlikeness) in My name, I will do it.

If you love Me, keep (abiding in Me and the Word which I have spoken, where you are kept by) My commandments (which promise to preserve your life forever in Me).

And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another (Helper and) Comforter, so that He may abide with you forever;

Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because (being blind) it does not see Him, neither knows Him: but you know Him; for He dwells with you and will be in you (forever).

I will not leave you (as orphans) comfortless: I will come to you.

Yet a little while and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me: (and) because I live (in the power of an endless life), you will also live (in that life).

On that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you (are) in Me, and I in you.

He that (abides in Me) has My commandments, and keeps them (close to his heart), it is he that loves Me (that loves the life I promised to serve him: and he that loves Me will be loved (also) of My Father, and I will love Him, and will manifest Myself to him.

Judas, not Iscariot, said to him, Lord, how is it that you will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?

Jesus answered and said to him, If a man loves Me (and My promise of life), he will keep My words (of life in his heart): and My Father will love him, and We will come to him, and make Our home with him.

He that does not love Me, does not keep My words (of life in his heart but seeks to preserve his own life): and the word which you hear (of Me) is not my own, but the Father's which sent me.

These things have I spoken to you, being yet present with you.

But (when) the Comforter (comes), which is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatever things I have said to you.

Peace (that rests in the Father’s care for your life) I leave with you, My peace I give to you: I do not give you (peace) as the world gives (which has no power to sustain you but quickly fades away), (The peace I give) allows your heart to not be troubled (but rest in the love and care of the Father’s life), neither will your heart be afraid (that the deadly pestilence in the world can injure the life I serve you with).

You have heard how I said to you, that I go away, and come again to you. If you loved Me, you would rejoice, because I go to (be glorified again with) the Father: for My Father (who sent Me) is greater than I (the Son of man whom He has sent).

And I have told you now before it comes to pass, so that, when it comes to pass, you might believe (that I and the Father are One).

From now on I will not talk with you much: for the prince of this world comes (to tempt Me to take up My own life), but (this world) has nothing in Me.

But so that the world may know that I love (and revere only the life) the Father (can crown Me with); and as the Father gave Me (the) commandment (life everlasting), even so do I (that I might bring many sons to the same glory). Arise, let us go from here.
