John 13

Now before the feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that His hour had come that He (would lay down His life and) depart out of this world (and return) unto the Father, having loved His own which were in the world (to the uttermost), He loved them unto the end.

And when supper was ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray Him;

Jesus knowing that the Father had given all power and authority into His hands (to pour out the Father’s life for all flesh) and that He had come from God, and returned to (the glory He had with) God (the Father before the world was);

He rose from supper and laid aside His garments; and took a towel and girded Himself (like a servant).

After that He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples' feet and to wipe them with the towel which He was girded with.

Then He comes to Simon Peter: and Peter says to Him, Lord, do you (intend to) wash my feet?

Jesus answered and said to him, What I do now, I know you do not understand, but you will understand after (the Spirit of truth has come).

Peter said to Him, You will never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I do not wash you (from death), you can have no part in my life.

Simon Peter said to Him, Lord, do not (wash) only my feet, but also my hands and my head.

Jesus said to him, He that is clean does not need to wash except (to wash) his feet, but is entirely clean: and you are clean, but not all.

For He knew who should betray him; therefore, He said, You are not all clean.

So after He had washed their feet, and had taken His garments (back), and was set down again, He said to them, Do you know what I have done to you?

You call Me Master and Lord: and you say correctly; for so I AM.

If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; you ought to also wash one another's feet.

For I have given you an example, so that (the same mind be formed in) you to do as I have done.

With absolute certainty, I say to you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him (but the lesser is blessed by the greater).

If you know (and understand) this, blessed are you if you do the same.

I do not speak of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but so that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eats bread with Me, (My friend whom I have trusted) has lifted up his heel against Me.

Now I tell you before it comes, so that when it has come to pass, you may believe that I am He (sent from the Father).

With absolute certainty, I say to you, He that receives whoever I send (as a servant) receives Me, and he that receives Me receives the Father who sent Me.

When Jesus finished saying this, He was disturbed in the spirit and testified, and said, With absolute certainty, I say to you, that one of you will betray Me.

Then the disciples looked at one another, uncertain about whom He spoke.

Now there was reclining on Jesus' bosom one of His disciples, whom Jesus loved.

Simon Peter therefore motioned to him, that he should ask who it was that He was speaking about.

He then laying on Jesus' breast said to Him, Lord, who is it?

Jesus answered, It is the one to whom I will offer a morsel (a bread) after I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the morsel (of bread), He gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.

And after (eating) the morsel Satan entered into him. Then Jesus said to him, That which you (must) do, do quickly.

Now no man at the table knew for what reason He spoke this to him.

For some of them thought, because Judas had the (money) bag, that Jesus had said to him, Buy those things that we have need of before the (Passover) feast; or, that he should give something to the poor.

He then having received the morsel (of bread) went immediately out: and it was night.

Therefore, when he was gone out, Jesus said, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God (the Father) is glorified in Him.

If God (the Father) be glorified in the Son, the Father will also glorify the Son in Himself and will straightway glorify Him (to the glory He had with the Father before the world began).

Little children, yet a little while I am with you (in the world). You will seek Me: and as I said to the Jews, Where I go, you cannot come; so now I say to you.

A new commandment I give to you (abide in Me, the word of life made flesh), So that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you might also love one another (laying down your lives for the brethren).

By this will all men know that you are My disciples, if you have (that type of) love one to another (for apart from Me you can do nothing).

Simon Peter said to Him, Lord, Where do you go? Jesus answered him, Where I go, you cannot follow Me now; but you will follow Me after (you have received strength, after the Holy Ghost has come upon you).

Peter said to Him, Lord, why can I not follow you now? I will lay down my life for your sake.

Jesus answered him, Will you lay down your life (now) for My sake? With absolute certainty, I say to you, The cock will not crow, till you have denied Me three times.
