John 16

These things have I spoken to you so that you would not stumble in offense (at the truth).

They will put you out of the synagogues: yes, the time is coming, that whoever kills you will think that they are doing God's service.

And these things will they do to you, because they have not known the Father, or Me.

But these things have I told you, so that when the time comes, you may remember that I told you of them. And these things I did not say to you at the beginning, because I was (still) with you.

But now I go My way to Him that sent Me; and none of you ask Me, Where am I going?

But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart (thinking you will be left comfortless).

Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I do not go away, the Comforter will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you (One like unto Myself).

And when He has come, He will (bring to light all the truth revealed in Me which will) reprove the world of sin (thinking they need to preserve their own lives), and of righteousness (the justice to appear in the Father's life, the only life He saw fitting for us from the beginning), and of judgment (so that those who are blind to the Father might see Him there in their midst to serve them with all the fruit of His life):

Of sin (unbelief), because they do not believe on Me (and the word which I have spoken that they are not orphans in the earth who need to care for their own lives but that the Father is able and ever desires to save them from death and preserve their lives forever, wherein they would also cry Abba Father);

Of righteousness (to appear in the Father’s life and immortality that they see revealed in Me), because I go to My Father (in glorified immortal flesh), and you see Me no more (according to the corruptible flesh);

Of judgment (so that those who are blind might see the Father and His everlasting kindness toward them to deliver them from the serpent’s death and serve them with His indestructible life), because the prince of this world is (rightly) judged (as the thief who kills, steals and destroys).

I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.

However when He, the Spirit of truth has come, He will guide you into all truth: for He will not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He hears (of the Father), that will He speak: and He will show you things to come.

He will glorify (and bear witness to the testimony of) Me: for He will receive of Mine (all the same which I have received of the Father) and will show it to you.

All things that the Father has are Mine: that is why I said that He will take of Mine (all the same which is of the Father) and will show it to you.

A little while, and you will not see Me: and again, a little while, and you will see Me (perfected from death in immortal flesh and bone) because I go to the Father.

Then some of His disciples said among themselves (not to Him), What is (the meaning of) this that He said to us, A little while, and you will not see Me: and again, a little while, and you will see Me (perfected from death in immortal flesh and bone): and because I go to the Father?

They were saying, therefore, When He says, A little while? We do not know what He is saying.

Now Jesus knew that they desired to ask Him, and said unto them, Do you ask among yourselves because I said, A little while, and you will not see Me: and again, a little while, and you will see Me?

With absolute certainty, I say to you, That you will (audibly) weep and mourn, but the world will rejoice: and you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy.

A woman when she gives birth has sorrow because her hour (of pain) has come: but as soon as she has delivered the child, she remembers the (pain and) anguish no more, because of the joy that a man is born into the world.

And you right now therefore have sorrow: but (when) I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no man will be able to take from you.

And in that day, you will ask Me nothing. (But) with absolute certainty, I say to you, Whatever you will ask the Father in My name, He will give to you (the thing your heart truly desires).

Up until now you have asked nothing in My name: (but in that day you will) ask, and you will receive (of the Father), that your joy may be full (and complete).

These things have I spoken to you in proverbs: but the time is coming when I will no longer speak to you in proverbs, but I will show you plainly of the Father.

In that day you will ask (the Father) in My name: and I am not saying to you, that I will pray to the Father for you:

For the Father Himself loves you (just as He loves Me), because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came (forth) out from God (the Father).

I came forth from the Father and have come (in flesh and blood) into the world (the Word made flesh): again (in immortal flesh, free from corruption), I leave the world and go to the Father.

His disciples said to Him, Now we can see that you speak (to us) plainly, and do not speak in a proverb.

Now we are sure that You know all things, and do not need that any man should question You: in this, we believe that You came forth from God.

Jesus answered them, Do you now believe?

Behold, the hour is coming, and yes has now come, that you will be scattered, every man to his own, and you will leave Me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is (ever) with Me.

These things I have spoken to you, so that (abiding) in Me you might have peace (knowing the Father loves you and will also always be with you). In the world you will have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome (the death and corruption in) the world.
